Carpet Stain Removal Tips

Unfortunately, accidents and mishaps can happen, no matter how careful you are with your carpet. A spill can quickly become an unsightly permanent stain if not attended to immediately. This quick emergency guide will help you remove liquid spots and stains such as red wine, beer, tea and coffee from your carpet:
  1. Use a damp clean white towel to absorb as much liquid as possible from the stain. It’s best to use white towels as colours can cause further staining if dyes run into the carpet.
  2. Dab the towel around to continually soak up as much of the spillage as possible.
  3. Gently apply pressure to help absorb the spillage. DO NOT rub, brush or scrub the stained area.
  4. Rinse the towel as required, but only dampen the towel enough to keep absorbing the spillage without saturating the carpet.
  5. Repeat the process until no more of the spillage is being absorbed into the towel.
  6. If a stain is still visible on the carpet please contact Apex Carpet Cleaning for professional stain removal assistance, as some stains may become permanent if the dye is left long enough to set.
